Hjalmar is Iceland’s most popular Reggae band. Yes, you did read that right. An Icelandic Reggae Band. Maybe it was the long Icelandic summer days that in 2004 inspired a group of friends to combine their passion for the sounds of Jamaica with the sounds of their homeland to create a unique blend of warm, old school reggae, sung entirely in Icelandic. Hugely respected, admired and loved in Iceland, Hjalmar have been one of Iceland’s best kept secrets. This documentary is about their trip to Jamaica to record their 4th album, IV, in Tuff Gong and Harry J. studio in Kingston. The film provides insight into the band’s studio work as well as about Jamaica and it´s people.
